HD webcam Fun With Logitech C615

Logitech C615
Chances are that if your laptop is still working well, a lack of a HD webcam isn't likely to entice you into upgrading - even if it would mean entry to the HD video calling club (the coolest club in town).

But there is another way in, one that doesn't involve you forking out a few hundred quid for a new computer, and that's buying a HD capable webcam such as the Logitech HD Webcam C615.

The C615 is the latest in Logitech's HD Webcam range (last year we saw the release of the C270, C310, C510 and the C910) and is capable of 1080p video recording.

It's compatible with all the big video conferencing platforms such as Skype, FaceTime, LogitechVid and Windows Live Messenger and also offers 8-megapixel stills options.

There's also one-click uploading options for your HD recordings to Facebook, Twitter and Facebook and is tri-pod ready so can be used for your home videos.

"We know how important it is for today's travellers to stay connected, whether they're on the road for business or leisure, so we are pleased to offer an HD webcam that simplifies video calling and sharing videos on the go," said Joerg Tewes, vice president and general manager of Logitech's consumer video business unit.

"The Logitech HD Webcam C615 is designed for maximum flexibility no matter what your needs may be, with the equipment necessary for HD recordings right in the box and easy-to-use editing features for both Mac and PC users.

Out in September, the Logitech HD Webcam C615 will cost £69.99.
